Nuts came off easy because I had all new studs installed and new nuts when the headers were installed the first time. Good for you!l nicely done getting one installed already!
I finally gathered enough courage to start the exhaust header job. I decided to tackle the easy side (passenger side) first. The job is as pain-in-the-azz as everyone says. Luckily all nuts came off cleanly and nothing broke

With dignity and a utility trailer  😁
This. I pull my sliders 2x per year to refinish. I'd have been a few grand into blasting and fresh powder by now. I use the rubberized coating too and it's pretty tough stuff. Not much compared to...
There are certain advantages to buying a truck from an enthusiast! @CappyKD included so many spare parts with the truck that I am still finding gems! Here's what I have found so far:
Starter motor brushes
Ignition cylinder rod
Manual throttle...
Nope, none of the above guesses are right, but you are the closest. Lol.
I took the bare finish option and painted them with rubberized undercoating.
@ClassyJalopy
If you are actually going to wheel it then don't powder coat them IMO, save...
This was at the local Toyota dealership. It was quite funny to see the tech guys all coming over and checking out the truck - A couple of them even came up to me and asked about different upgrades.
BTW our local Tires Plus are the scum of the...
Yes the critters had a ball with under hood wires! The whole dual battery system is going bonkers because of the chewed up wires. I guess the more time I spend on these wires, the more familiar I get with all the upgrades!
Lol damn critters wth.
Not the first time she lost both bulbs at the Same time either. That set has like 10-20k miles of use on them. Was gonna do a projector retrofit to HID native projectors but I never got around to it.
One more thing that has been a mystery from get go was that both headlight low beams were inop. I figured both bulbs can't be busted at the same time, so started looking at the wires. Found both headlight wiring harnesses were chewed through...
Got her back from the shop yesterday with the LRA gas tank installed. The tank is certainly BIG and hangs at least 2.5 inches below the frame rails. Hanging out almost level with the lower control arm mount, means this truck is probably not...
I had the amazing luck of finding the fuel pump harness so quickly and then having it shipped overnight to me for a very reasonable price!
Took the harness to the shop working on the truck and had a chance to look at the work in progress on the...

Amazing deal and nice work getting it running so quickly - definitely lucky that the mice attacked the top side, but they do like to stay high and dry.
@CappyKD really well built vehicle - great parts and super nice selection of mods.
A little progress was made:
New Group 31 commercial battery from Battery Plus: Duracell Ultra BCI Group 31P Starting Heavy Duty Battery (SAE Terminals) - SLI31PA at Batteries Plus Bulbs - https://www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/sli31pa
New...
The only real need I am actually aware of is replacing the gas tank, patching up the soft lines, and replace the headers (again DT headers were included with the sale!).
Second priority is to replace all fluids.
Third priority is to cover...
If I can find a buyer for my 98 LX then I will sell it! And that's "Cashmere Beige Metallic" to you, thank you very much!
But I want to hold on to my old truck until I have worked through the needs of this new truck.
4 fuel injector pig tails, 2 ignition coil pigtails and a new Group 31 battery later, Blue fired right up and idled fairly smooth. This is a major relief since I was really worried about rodent damage to the wires and pipes that I might not be...
