some have a "valet" switch that you press after turning the key to "acc". probably located around driver side kick panel...about a pencil eraser size.

the spindle isn't cracked, it is definitely a gouge as a result of something. Like someone took a massive flat head and gouged the crap out of it?? @Tools R Us ...when you say it is worn enough that the seal chamfer is gone, are you referring to at the base of the spindle, the first step...

haven't been having any problems found it while replacing wheel bearings. Do however have some clicking on that side when accelerating up sharp turns in parking garage - preparing to to axle rebuild and swap sides.

Update...changed the diff oil (see picture below of old oil & magnetic plug)...also added about 6oz of cv grease in each. Will check everything again next weekend. Thanks everyone for the input.

Thanks for the replies. Based off this thread and my other one, I plan on cleaning up both assemblies, check the grease level and add moly along with changing the diff oil. Then see what a week of driving does with clean assemblies. Planning on using Mobil 1 gear oil and sta lube cv joint...
