Looking good! You’re making progress on several segments of the project at a great pace. Wish I could keep up.

Not much progress to show here, but I did manage to pressure wash the old girl and throw some spare wheels/tires on it so it will roll around the yard

Hello all, I accidentally acquired a 71 FJ55 this weekend, in an effort to save it from being scrapped. Happened on it locally, had just been dragged out of someone’s back yard during a large clean up. I made an offer and the owner agreed, so now...

Today I got about an hour on the creeper doing some CAD work for the next set of mounts. I managed to get them cut out just before dinner and this evening got them pretty much in formed up.. I'll probably have to drill a hole to get the...

This is virtually an exact match for the floors of my 1977. I was shocked when i couldn’t find where I blended it when it dried. Might not be to late to throw a coat on

When I got my mistress 7 years ago she was complete stock and I had all my “old” camping gear from several life times ago filling up every orifice that I could find in my new pet. I did install Rhino brand roof rack and what didn’t fit inside I...

That interior has come up well hasnt it.. nice progress!

Continuing with making the most of what I have ( and not having to buy new parts), I've been cleaning stuff up to try and keep things moving. Tried polishing the tail lights. On the right has been done, left as bought. They're not perfect, and I...

We've decided to build some drawers instead of the military boxes, just too heavy to be pulling in and out all the time. I think the Deck system wastes a lot of space that you could put to use. I almost bought a used Weather Guard drawer as it...

If you can get the 80 twin tank filler to work in the stock 55 location it would be a neat solution

Ive got one to try and fit.. not sure if i can keep the exisiting flap. Having a flap release in cab would be nice.. im guessing with 180l and an estimated economy with the 15bft of 12l/100 , I should have about a 1500km range..
  • brisveganbj42
Im hoping to also fit the main tank from the 80 series next to the gearbox. But will need to finiah body mounts and mock the engine and gearbox firat though.. if it fits theres another 90l
  • brisveganbj42
Test fit the BJ73 90L diesel tank.. Plenty of room.. I also have a large truck air tank I want to run (along with a 2nd battery) in the space in front of the tank. The tank out the rear also suits the body supports to mount the straps onto for...

Got some more stripper discs off of Amazon and removed most of the remaining paint on the frame. Had one of these hardware store standard issue 3M stripper discs sitting in my tool box since who knows when. They advertise their use with a drill...

Thanks Frank/Jacob! I know I promised a few answers, I am getting worked like a rented donkey at work right now, so I am a little behind in my replies. The Google doc works well on my end. Thanks again for taking this on!

Okay, so in hopes of creating a guide that will be more effective and up to date, I made a Google Doc and have listed everything I have found by reading through the old weatherstripping guide. The document will be kept up to date as much as...

Got the rear most body mounts fabbed, painted and tacked onto the chassis,, rubbers are tightened up. I basically cut the top off the rear most 80 body mounts so i could use the rubber and fabbed a new lower section that kinda outboarded the...
