So the vehicle is fixed and thank you all for the replies.
The battery that was in it turned out to be bad according to the mechanic. He said it would charge to start but only surface charge as he calls it. So the alternator was having to work overtime to keep the truck running and fried its...
Thank you.
It's draining the battery very quickly after just sitting without running so it's headed back to the shop. I'll try and update this in case anyone else has similar issues.
My wife's Lx has been basically trouble free besides a water pump at 110k miles until a few days ago. It now has 115k miles.
She went to start it and the battery was dead. I jumped it, then took it to have the battery tested. Two auto parts stores tested it (possibly a mistake) and said the 3...
Try as I might I still couldn't persuade the coupler to slide into the rack output. So I went topside and removed the 2 bolts from the top coupler at the firewall.
Voila! It slid home like butter! Now, I figured out that the lower bolt has a shaft grove it has to fit between, but the top bolt...
Thank you Somebosyelse5.
I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I did wire brush the inner splines with a gun barrel brush and put some anti-seize in there to slick it up.
I'm sorry to hear you having starting problems, I know that's aggravating. There's a good chance I won't know the fix for your ride, but you've piqued my interest.
When you say it has "slow start issues" do you mean that it's turning over slow, or it turns fine but takes longer than it should...
Thanks everyone for this thread and all the extra advice. Like most here, I would have had a much more frustrating day without it.
One question though, is there a trick to getting the steering shaft coupling all the way down on the new unit output shaft?
I did have some trouble separating...
It definitely is helpful. I ordered the struts off amazon last night for $40. Supposed to be at my door Thursday. Hopefully I can get them on before my wife leaves town Thursday afternoon. Again, thanks for the help everyone.
I had that fall off too when I was replacing my lock actuator motors. I had to wait until I removed another one to figure out how it went on. It fits on the black plastic body of the actuator, not sure if as a drain or what. It plugs onto the nipple that is between the cover and the plug here...
Hello,
My wife DD's an '11 Lx (91k miles) and informed me the other day that the button for the rear liftgate doesn't seem to work anymore to raise the top half of the cargo access. I've always just manually opened and closed it but obviously she is used to the convenience.
So sure enough I...
Trailer is looking great! I started one as well around the same time as you and plan to start a thread soon on my build. Mine is very similar in size and look to yours but of course different in many aspects as well. I really like how you have integrated your lights and spare tire. Your...
Brake dive almost completely disappears, as I'm sure it does with any new quality shock, and body roll is way way better. I'm more confident on a curvy road in my 100 than I am my work truck, 2015 F-150.
I don't have experience with the OME or Fox, only factory on the cruiser but I have zero...
I've had foam cell pro's on all 4 corners of my stock height '03 with 275/70r18s since April and love them. My factory shocks were done with 155k miles. The Pro's are a little firmer than stock but I prefer that. Much better on & off road imho..
I have had no issues with bottoming out the...
Thank you everyone.
Aggie, bending them came to mind but as a last resort, looks like I might be at that point. I'm tired of seeing them every time I drive the wife's truck.
