The thing I found was that other 70 brake masters will bolt up to the firewall but the brake lines on the 74 attach to the master on the opposite side to other 70 series.

Sorry to hear that mate but glad you have it sorted now. Anyone else who has had the Chinese booster fail should post it up. If they are no good poeple shouldn't buy them.

Sounds like a classic case of Leaky Clutch Booster. Search Clutch Booster in the 70's Forum and you should find the info u need.

I bought a aftermarket cable and installed it. It was a good cable and all the mounting points fit like the factory one. It is a bit shakey so I might lube the inner cable and see if that helps. No noise from the cablethough.
