Not much action here so I put it on Craigslist.
First day on Craigslist I get a text, a guy comes to see it and after a really thorough inspection and short test drive I have a decent sized cash deposit in my pocket.
Completing the deal when the guy comes over with cash on Friday.
After...
I bought the truck from a guy who inherited it from his uncle and only had it for a week or so and I don't have any info about the head gasket. From looking at the head area, something was done there (some old oozing sealant), but I don't know what.
No clicking or any funny/unusual sounds...
Click the link below for some pictures of the exterior and interior I took 2 days ago. I didn't have a chance to clean it so please excuse any dirt or mess.
LOTS OF PIX, CLICK HERE -> http://www.dynonet.com/lc_20130715/
I'll look for some pix of the dented bumper.
Right now the vehicle is in northeast PA near Lake Wallenpaupack if you know the area.
Will be moving it to Astoria, NY if there is sufficient interest

WORKING OEM LOCKERS
I really love this truck but just don't use it - probably put 1000 miles on it in the last 6-8 months.
Locked 1997 Collector's Edition badged Moonglow Pearl Metallic with beige leather interior and ~174k miles.
Nice interior, no rips, Lexus type climate control, good...

I'd take whatever KBB says with a large grain of salt. If someone needs to rely on the KBB value and is taking out a loan for a...
Price sounds about right assuming no or minimal rust, maybe knock it down a couple hundred due to mileage and seats. EGR valve is most likely an easy fix cleaning out the passageways. Head gasket is a gamble whether you have 100k or 250k miles.
I don't know about the one for sale on this thread (can you make those pictures any smaller?), but my collector's edition has auto climate control.
You are correct in saying just cosmetics (and fewer color options available in the 40th anniversary editions).
OME stock height, stock tires with a BIG Thule box on top. Long Island Expressway traffic, Manhattan traffic, Route 80 to the Poconos. Staying at the posted speed limit trying to save gas due to the shortage of fuel in the area: 15.5 mpg.
Generally going a bit faster and lose about 1mpg.
Looks priced about right to me. Maybe offer him a couple hundred less.
What he eventually takes depends on his desperation but I don't like taking advantage of people who are having hard times.
One more vote for the industrial velcro method, took about 20 minutes.
Been holding up for over a year now. If it fails, it shouldn't be a problem to use one of the more involved methods.
