Help Needed for Audio Wire Replacement

So in a previous thread from about 18 months ago, I was dealing with a voltage meter that went bad. One of the issues that was leading to this according to my mechanic was a short in the Audio power wire. He never plugged the after market radio back in. Over Christmas, I got some new speakers...

    Voltage Spikes

What do you want for it? I did not go to RockAuto. Out of curiosity, what is wrong with their part?

My only reason for risking it is because my Land Cruiser is my daily driver. I got stuff to do :)

    Voltage Spikes

I am going to replace the entire alternator. It is going to take a few days to get here. I just worried about running the Land Cruiser before I can get the new alternator in on Thursday. I do not want to do more damage to the existing electrical.

    Voltage Spikes

So I tried tapping on the back of the alternator this morning with a hammer as I heard that may help. I cranked the engine this morning after it sat all night and let it idle. Voltage meter read in the acceptable range. Drove it a half mile to the store, and the voltage meter still read...

    Voltage Spikes

Hello Sports fans, I am coming to the forum to seek the infinite wisdom of the group. I am the proud owner of a 1989 FJ 62. Recently, the fusible links at the battery fried out. The clock, door locks, and half the gauges went dead. Took it to my local mechanic to which he traced two...

Those readings were with the ax button on and and full blower. if I just get a can of AC pro, and use their gauge, is that enough to to fix this problem? I assume I put in refrigerant in the low side. I just do not want to hurt the system in which I end up having to replace the compressor

Yes, gauges were hooked up blue side to low (port closest to engine) red side to high (port furthest from engine). Yellow hose I had to cap.

What is the next correct action to fix the pressures and get cool air?

    Another FJ62 AC Thread

Ok sports fans… I ordered a set of gauges and hoses. When I first got everything hooked up to my system, I noticed that the low pressure side was reading 120 PSI, but the high pressure side was way low. I bled off the low pressure side back to 30 PSI, and thus then found that I now have no...

would a gauge from a can of AC pro do the trick?

Nothing. They recharged the system (but now there is a loud buzzing sound for the AC only). They also tested for leaks.

Sounds like bleeding air from a tire, just don’t enjoy the fumes?

Yes, I did have to re-splice wires to connect motor. The old motor had been spliced in (makes me believe the blower motor had been replaced before.). Keep in mind this is an ‘89 FJ62. But, the where the splice had happened, seemed to be new. The more I think about it, the more I believe the...
