A few new 60 Series products

Ha ha. A MK19 tripod mount! Man, I don't hear much MK19 talk now. That brings back memories. There have been quite a few requests for MOLLE on the interior of the side windows. That would probably be an easy one to knock out. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, though. Is there an existing...

A few new 60 Series products

At this point I am leaning heavily toward a FJC chassis swap and GM GenV L89 with 10 speed auto. I do like the idea of keeping it Toyota, but if I am going to the trouble of an engine swap, I might as well go all-in and create something unique. Thanks! Yes, if this makes it to our SEMA booth...

A few new 60 Series products

I went and looked at that one a couple of weeks ago. Looks like a good running engine, but it has about 260k on it, I believe. Labor rate at the local Toyota shop (non-dealer) is $2700 to swap it in. It was actually in a friend’s 80 series when he totaled it, so I do trust that it was taken care...

A few new 60 Series products

OK, so here's a little big of an update. It looks like putting a rebuilt 3FE back into this one is going to be some where in the $5k - $7k range with me paying for all of the work to be done. That's a good bit more than I would like to spend on a 3FE. So... Back to considering the swap options...

Yeah, not what I was expecting, but I am committed to this one. Ten years from now, after making countless memories with it, I will barely remember this anyway. 🤣

A few new 60 Series products

I will start with the platform. Once I get that in CAD, I will be able to play with all of the module options. I'll keep this thread updated with what I come up with. I'm always open to suggestions as well. I really appreciate that. I am going to look at the 3FE linked above this morning. It...

That's amazing. That's my home town. Message sent. Thanks!

A few new 60 Series products

No doubt. A lot of the issue with the GM engines is the alignment of the t-case to axles. At this point, I think I am just going to drive it as-is. Maybe it will last another few years. 🤞

A few new 60 Series products

I read through a few posts (not this particular one) earlier today. The reason I wanted the 62 was so that it could be a casual project that could maintain daily driver status during any work being done. The 2FE seems like a decent sized project, which I unfortunately don't have time for right...

A few new 60 Series products

That's the first time I have seen Optimus Prime quoted, but it was spot on! 🤣🤣 I am evaluating all of the options. I spoke, at length, with Mitch from SwapTime today. He has some good options for a GenIV GM swap. @woody suggested looking into the 2FE, but I haven't been able to find much recent...

A few new 60 Series products

So, my super clean new FJ62 took a turn for the worse today. Turns out there is a crack in the block. I was really hoping to keep this one all original, but short of the 3FE fairy paying me a visit, the options are pretty grim.

Thanks! MOLLE panels would be a good fit back there. Tons of usable space to work with.

A few new 60 Series products

I have owned a few 60's over the years, but had to sell my favorite one to fund the creation of a new business at the time. Fast forward about 5 years, and I was finally able to replace that one with a completely rust-free 1990 FJ62 to serve as a daily driver. The company I started a few years...

    FJ60 - "9 Lives" Build

If I go to the trouble to swap, it'll be with a 6.2. It's just a great package.

    FJ60 - "9 Lives" Build

The L92 has VVT (easily canceled out if not wanted) but no DOD, so it's great for a swap. The 6L80 (when taken from '07-08 Escalade/Denali) already has a transfer case adapter on the housing. It also has a very low first gear, which is great off road, and a really high 6th gear, which is great...
