This rig has been available for trade since 2011 on the Marlincrawler forum that I stumbled across. The guy got it from Oregon coast for $500 in poor condition and has fixed it up somewhat from what I can tell. He had an offer of $2500 and it's still for sale, so I'm guessing he's thinking...
I asked RTT question 18 years ago and ended up searching for five years until I stumbled across Maggionlina - Italy. I currently have what very well may be the oldest Maggiolina in the USA. It is around 18 years old now. I have absolutley loved having the giant "hot tub" on top of my 60. I have...
We're now experimenting with Atlas springs. They have taken them back 3 times now and rebuilt them heavier. The truck has gone back SUA, with about a 7" lift spring. With the current set up, I can at least drive safely, but the suspension is still very interestingly soft.
My rear shackles...

I must say, I'm not too sold on all these newer tents. I've had my Maggiolina for 20 years now. I've been told it is the oldest one on the west coast. It has been through just about every weather phenomena that you could think up...
Just head east or west out of town and there are unlimited trails. East of town is an official offroad area with some technical wheeling and also tons of desert BLM roads. SE of town in Newberry Crater with lots of forest service roads off/around, west of town are all the old logging roads (at...
Please realize: The BLM purposefully left many roads off of their new version of the Burns District, South Half map. It equates to a very slippery way for BLM to close roads.
Cheap, easy = 1" body lift. You'll fit 35's just fine with OME suspension. You might have some tire rub on the front inner fenders, but if you add 1.5" wheel spacers that goes away too.
Passenger side spring, notice how close the wrap is to the frame. The spring sits flat - truck unloaded, aux. fuel tank empty.
Driver side is blocked by the exhaust, but also note how flat the spring is and how close it is to hitting the frame.
I ran two sets of stock, junk yard springs. The first set made it 125 miles from home to Klamath Falls. I limped the truck down to the Bay Area and had a second set of used springs installed - minuscule, slight improvement. Then I had a complete set of "stock" Chevy springs made by Oregon...
You want Chevy 63" springs? I've got four sets all can be had at a reasonable price. Two sets stock/used failed to hold my 60 up and inverted - - before loading the truck. Custom made, Oregon Spring, new springs - - Failed, inverted won't hold a 7,000 lb truck.
These are 7 leaf, 1` ton...
