I painted the bed blue for a different 45 project… Did not work. Could be included with the monster truck, which is my nickname for this great big Mickey Thompson equipped project.
Looks like a Toyota front axle to me, but again I am not an expert. I bet many mud members will be able to identify this axle after having just laid an eyeball on it.
Currie axle in the rear. New chrome shafts. 15 inch wheels with big ass Mickey Thompson, 12 inches wide on the rim and I believe these are 40 inch tall tires. They are old though I wouldn’t trust them for anything other than putting around.
I have a 1964 FJ45 with a clean and clear title in My. The windshield is incorrect. The seat is incorrect. It’s missing the steering column. It has absolutely zero drive train zero cooling system zero gauges… It would take me forever to list...
That crossbar above the rear differential measures 31 1/2 inches. This is the 19 1964LS swapped truck from bring a trailer.
This is another 1965 short wheelbase truck, which I do have the bed for… On this frame that same crossbar is about 9...
It’s true! But now I’m vacillating on powertrain because it’s such a unique truck. I wanted to do a 6BT Cummins swap since forever. But this truck is so unique. Maybe a 1HD-T makes more sense?
Regardless, I don’t have the money for either right...
Yes, Andy told me that the Frame is an FJ45 but then I spoke with the mechanic who actually did the work and he tells me it was a modified FJ40 frame. Kind of a mystery especially with the handmade VIN stamp. Definitely not Toyota so I’m at a...
nothing like grinding off the vin and re stamping a new one on the frame. could always shorten the bed since its already been cut on. just take a few inches out of the front or put a set of 60 springs on backwards to offset further back. 55 rear...
I think this is my favorite idea. (I’m not much of a mechanic).
I will need to extend the brake lines, extend the driveshaft and other than the springs and the frame… that’s about it. What else am I missing?
Thats my old truck! ( green goblin) that rear frame sure looks like an fj55 frame? Measure the wheelbase( should be 104”. Maybe Andy can enlighten you? I think it might be pieced together?
