I moved from OEM p-metric tires on my previous (2008) LX to load range D KO2 and the ride was harsh. I now run load range C Toyo AT3s and find them much better on ride quality and gas mileage.
Yes! It was the dash switch! Huge thank you !!!
After I washed under the rig for about 5 mins, I warmed up the gears really well. Took off the switch and it had plenty of tension - but it moved easily. Then, it went into H4 quickly!!! Thank...
Life changes, and my wife and I wanted a 4 door car to support having a family in the future. Somehow, neither of us have ever owned a 4 door car. Luckily, my good friend who has a 200 bought a new Tremor and asked me if I wanted his 200 that I...
Weekend trip on the SCAR (South Carolina Adventure Route) over presidents day weekend, and a full Monday swapping a buddy's suspension back to stock, so the the OME 2.5" lift can be transferred to my truck. Also picked up a set of Full underbody...
I discovered that the Anker 621 magnetic power bank is a near perfect fit in the weird tray in front of the shifter on my 2013 LX. Width and corner radius is perfect, but it's not quite long enough as you can see. I removed the rubber mat for a...
For the past 14 years I've driven a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. I drove it from 112,000 miles to 250,000 miles. All I did was oil changes, change front wheel bearings, and take care of any recalls. It was reliable, simple, and took me everywhere I wanted...
I know… I’ve been a bad cruiser friend.
I now take people around the world on (mostly) vehicle based adventures. Because of that, I’ve had my focus tunneled to those clients. So from planning these trips, to building the trucks, then shipping...
How 'bout a moving picture?
Took my LX out to our local off road park with a couple of Jeep guys. I've only ever been offroad while on vacation with the wife and kids, and no one else around, so it was nice to push the LX a little harder in a...
What beautiful country. Enjoyed Arches, Canyonlands, and Moab! Thanks for the recommendations. Fins N Things hit the spot and was the perfect trail for the family. We had the place to ourselves as this was low season for the town with highs...
I bought and installed the Blizzaks (DMv2s 285/50R20; $1,320 all-in for 4).
First day today on the snow and ice. They were AMAZING. I was planted on the ice while Jeeps and other vehicles were sliding sideways and some even doing full 360s...
We closed out and opened up the year camping which has been our tradition since having kids. Since getting home I’ve tallied up my spreadsheets that I use to keep track of mileage and what not… my wife says I obsess but that maintenance won’t do...
OMG.
Thank you MUD and I’m a moron.
Took my Husky floor mat out to clean it and apparently when I put it back in I covered the pedal.
So I’m a moron, but thankfully an easy and cheap fix. I’ll take the egg on my face.
Made it up Hell’s Gate in full mom car attire with fresh overnight snow on the ground.
Wasn’t pretty but happy to have completed it without earning any body damage.
Get it done! I had to be pretty firm with the service manager, but he eventually went for it. He wanted to have someone diagnose the vehicle to confirm the "problem" existed, etc etc. I can't picture being able to convince and average service...
Update: The dealership did the software upgrade and wow, what a difference. Completely solved my issue which the TSB describes as "Shift shock 1st to 2nd gear when the water temperature is below 60°C (140°F)." In my case I wouldn't have called...
I run the same tires you have and ran a set of KO2s before the Toyos. However I switch to a dedicated set of winter tires (Blizzaks) in the winter. In extreme winter conditions a dedicted winter tire makes a difference.
