At the rear. I had trimmed a bunch of plastic off at the base of the sideskirt/rear fender to stop rubbing with my previous 265/70/17s. With the 285s, I haven't had to trim anything else, but it looks like I may need to ziptie the rear of the fender liner back. I had warmed it up with a heat gun...
^I have +10 AlphaEquipt wheels with 285/70/17 and only had to trim/smush plastic to clear my Mickey Thompsons. It looks like it will clear the body mount when wheels are fully stuffed and turned but will find out for sure on my next off road trip.
Finally got around to replacing my recalled Ironman control arms that have been sitting in my garage since the end of November. The driver's side ball joint on the original set started clicking a couple weeks ago and was definitely shot. I feel like people of the internet make swapping UCAs out...
Budbuilt skids have load bearing hatches on the front and engine skids so you can get to drain plug and filter without pulling whole plates off. They are one of the few companies that does a dedicated GX460 plate set and they work great. I think RCI and many others use the same skids for the GX...
I've been digging into this hairbrained scheme further and it looks I can just get the right sized splitter for dual high beams, and then wire the switch/relay for the light pods to the splitter while the pods themselves are wired normally. So when I turn the switch on, then the pods will come...
Thinking about starting a thread arguing about water-cooled engines diluting the brand because we are reaching Rennlist levels of pettiness and shenanigans over here arguining about what a "real" land cruiser is
I'm just going to start screaming "It's not a real Land Cruiser" at any one I see driving any Toyota. I think that's the only way Toyota finally realizes there is a market for the 70 series.
Now that I have seen the styling and trim levels of the 4Runner I see what they are doing and it is probably going to work. For my money I will take the new GX because I honestly can't imagine how anyone off roads without massage seats. I think the Land Cruiser has a different style and appeal...
I have the MRAs on my 460 because I like to tinker and nerd out on suspension stuff and also wanted to flex on everyone with my remote reservoirs lol. It takes quite a bit of trial and error to dial everything in to your preference but they do perform great if you want to spend like $4 grand on...
Have you ever been in Florida in July and had to sit in the backseat of vehicle that has 2 puny vents coming out of the rear console?
It's also a matter of luxury and features; If I spend $80,000 on a Lexus I expect the Lexus to keep my passengers are comfortable as I am.
^I imagine they published the off road angles for the Trailhunter and/or TRD Pro (whichever is better). I agree it seems like LC250 is immediately back in a weird spot before it's even on sale. The only way it makes sense to me is if the 4Runner trim(s) that have the rear locker and sway...
