    What constitutes a cold start. Supposed to be pretty cold here the next couple of days. Right around 0. Would that could give it some crap right off the get go even if it is in good working order? So a basic idea would be to check the oil dipstick for color, check coolant for any nastiness...

    I will switch over to the VR1 then. I used to run that in my BMW's. Unless I can find the additive locally. Kind of limited as far as what we have available up here sometimes.

    What are peoples thoughts on the ZDDP issue with breaking in a 2F. I am running Rotella in it right now, but am curious as to whether I would need to run a ZDDP additive. Like to have peoples thoughts on here.

    I have everything pretty well desmogged per trollholes post. Only question now is if the TP on the carb can be vacuumed straight to one of the 2 ports on the insulator of the carb? I do not have a VSV valve on the vehicle. I have a single port that I can tee off of for the carb and dizzy if...

    I was trying to avoid pulling it all the way, but it looks like what I am going to have to do. Even with the dizzy moved, it is still a bit of a PITA to get to. The battery tray is a dual battery aftermarket tray.

    Issue being, I could rotate the dizzy a bit counter clockwise, but the secondary battery will be in the way. :-/

    It does mean that most places. Probably not as big as my old lady wishes they were. Here is a pic of the problem area. How hard is it to spin the dizzy enough to get the vacuum advance out of the way?

    We generally just put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. Has an electric fan though, So I am not sure how well it would help. Especially with all the open area underneath.

    Thanks. I will check that. I am just gonna redo the timing and reset the carb this weekend. Probably about time to pull the cover and adjust the valves anyway.

    The second battery definitely isn't helping either. It is made for a 2F. Actually a DUI ignition. I will grab a pic when I get home.

    No vacuum leaks I could find. It will actually die if you aren't in there giving it throttle when the choke is pulled out. Is that normal? Even happened when it was like 40 out.

    The entire dizzy is in the way. I could rotate it 180 degrees and it would give me a tiny bit more space, but not enough to make a huge difference.

    It seems to be. Unless it is only getting stuck below 35 degrees.
