OEM Leather Seat Kits For FZJ-80

center console cover Sign me up for a full set of tops and bottoms for the front seats if you can confirm that the color is correct - mine are a light tan on a '96. Any chance of getting the center console cover or steering wheel cover?

    ARBadaptor vs. Hi-Liftadaptor w/ARB Bullbar?

I am assuming that the question is for the use of the Hi-Lift, not the stored mounting of the jack. I have the same question about the best attachment. These rigs have so much flex in the suspension that lifting from the bumper takes a tall jack - making it more likely to slip as the angle...

    REAR QUARTER PANEL WATER TANKS

Has anyone bought one of these water tanks yet? It is a great idea, but when I contacted the one company, they were not aware of the stowage compartment or the subwoofer on the US 80's, but the photo looks like there is a flat spot close to where the stowage compartment is at. I don't mind...

    Loose Rear-end

As I mentioned, I removed and rotated the panhard rod so that the areas where the threads had cut into the bushings are now in the shoulder area of the bolt. The thread diameter is large enough to take up most of the slack. The loseness and clunking has gone away, but this is a bandaide fix...

    Loose Rear-end

Well, I figured out the real cause. IMHO, it is a design flaw. Toyota used the wrong bolt design to secure the rear panhard rod. The busings in the pan-hard rods have a metal insert, 0.709" dia and 1.965" long. The lower left bolt (on the axle) has a shoulder area 0.667" dia and 1.735" long...

    Loose Rear-end

My '96 Cruiser with standard OME  springs and shocks has too much play in the rear axle. When I drive over speed bumps or enter/exit my driveway, the rear axle wobbles and clunks little bit and it seems like something is loose. The front axle is very tight. I've looked at the control...

    Sensitive Oil Light

Does anyone have any idea why my oil light would illuminate when the dipstick is clearly half-way between the high and low marks (yes, I wipe the dip-stick with a clean rag before measuring)? The light seems to be somewhat intermittant, but tends to turn on about half a minute after I get to...

    tranny gasket

Has anyone used Permatex Ultra Grey RTV instead of the ThreeBond 1281? Permatex claims it to be an OEM equivalent for Toyota FIPG 00295-01281.

    Power Steering Hoses

On the past two wheeling trips, two 80's blew out power steering hoses. My rig is a little newer, so I figure I am living on borrowed time in the heat of AZ. Toyota wants some big coin for the replacement hoses and makes you replace an entire assembly for the low pressure side. Napa can...

    Valve Clearance Adjustment

It's time to check my valve clearance on my '96 80.  The Repair manual speaks of some special tools to get to the shims to measure the gap (SST 09248-55050).  Are these tools required or can you get by with a feeler guage and screwdriver (and a couple brewskees)?   Is there any place other than...
