Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

Well, it has been a while (again) for some updates. Lots has happened to the cruiser since the last posting. I ran out of time and sent the truck to Steve at EBI Cruisers to do some work. New rear axle, brakes, wiring harness and brake booster were stuck on as well as some other smaller stuff...

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

I will start with a disclaimer. I have no idea why I originally called this thread a "restoration". It is most definitely not. A slow fix-up and modification process more like it. Either way, we are on track for summer. This past week was full of more of the good stuff. Joss spent a great deal...

Some pictures of it outside. Ignore the mismatched paint. Still a ways to go in that department.

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

We will see how this goes. I have tried a few different formats of uploading a video, but they have all failed. If this doesn't work for some folks, let me know. This is a late update. All of the following was accomplished a few weeks ago. We managed to finish a few jobs. Joss once again...

@Chef PM sent. To the other folks who have purchased parts. Thank you very much. Rest assured that all of the $$$ has gone straight back into my 45 haha. Cheers, Matt

@PG45er Good job looking that up. Thanks for the info. I really like the look of those tires. @73fj I do belive it did. And that is precisely why it blew. Can't have things go too smoothly, otherwise someone might think something is up. Bought a new slave cylinder at the Toyota dealership...

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

PG45er, I have no idea. Wish I did. All I know is that they look pretty good. They say "Jeep Service" on the sidewall. When these go, I am switching back to stock rims, and going to stay with the tall/skinny tires. EDITED: Thought I would add the bit we did today. Just more body work. Wiring...

For Sale  45 Bed and other parts

Alright. Here goes. I am looking to sell off some of the stuff that came with my parts truck. I have tried to take some pictures of most things I have, but will have missed a few things. If you have any specific requests or see something on the shelf, just ask. Some of the parts are obviously a...

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

Today was a slow day. More grinding of surface rust on the bed. Soon to be cutting out the holes and welding in new metal from the scrap bed. Also going to swap out the rails sometime soon as well. We decided it would be easier (and look better in the end) to just cut off ones that are dead...

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

Here we go. Another flurry of activity. We replaced the starter with one that was rebuilt, along with all the wiring and grounds. Engine cranks over strong and fast now. Second battery helps with that as well. Fuel lines from the tank onwards were replaced. That seems to have cut out the air...

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

Seems I have hit my post to picture limit and need to keep posting pictures in the comment after. Also an unrelated picture of the New Years Snow, and Joss brushing off the truck.

Slow Restoration of a diesel 45

We got more work done today. Sure has been nice to get some serious time in on the truck. On the other hand. What was supposed to be a 10 minute job hooking up the fuel tank yesterday, has now turned into a two day escapade. When whoever had the tank last, they had it dipped to coat the thing...
