I think the confusion is the lower "pan" is steel but there's an upper portion that is Al.

I agree with others about the deer issue. It's a problem around here and I wish my DIY bumper had some hoops. I also think the chopped ARBs looks great, both BoxRocket's skittles version and yours sans hoop.
