Hello all,
I'm new to the LC100 platform, about 2 weeks ago I upgraded from a 2006 T4R to a 2006 Pacific Blue LC. Loving it so far, however encountered a flashing TPMS light on my first road trip. I was determined to permanently disable the...
I hear you. My comment wasn’t intended to be taken for fact. That’s why I said the 200 was better “in my opinion”.
If I didn’t own a 200 or a 250/GX right now and had $85k to spend, I would still prefer to buy a 20k-30k mile heritage edition 200.
The increased interior space alone in the 200 compared to the GX 550 is a huge factor.
Last I checked, the proven 3UR has more HP and that’s done on regular gas… the hypothetical increase in MPG is wiped out when you have to pay for premium gas…...
got an option for 2x overtrail+ models, one incognito and the other earth. Both are msrp of 82k+. Struggling to see how this makes more sense than a 20-21 LC.
Ive been down this path a few times. If the rest of the paint looks good, painting the hood with a rattle can will look terrible. If you have it done right, it will look much better than the rest, especially the fenders, and there won't be any...
It is a nice truck. Go to BaT. and don't waste your time here. I may be wrong, but no one has been sold
FJ40 for your asking price range here... for the last 5 years. Many trying... but finally, go to BaT.
I've owned this 40 for the past 5+ years and have had all work done either locally by a Toyota/Landcruiser mechanic (McIntosh Imports) or by Trollhole's Cruisers. I am not mechanically-inclined but happy to answer any questions to the best of my...
I bought a 2011 LC200 about a year and a half ago. It had 180k miles, but was $20k and had no rust. From South Carolina. It's been awesome, the only issue I had was one TPMS sensor went and the rear latch went. Rear latch was an easy fix for me...
Mind you…you may pay more for LC INITIALLY, but LX has higher maintenance costs throughout its life unless you are very handy and do your own maintenance. If you are (very) handy, then LX is good value for sure.
I could say a lot about all this but Im not. But I will say there is no reason to think that a dealer service department has any more expertise than an indy shop.
Yes, that was enough information on one page to form an educated opinion. Just my experience in the dealership world. You dont agree or like it that's fine. You want to classify yourself as being not very bright and gullible then again that is...
It's your Land Cruiser, spend what makes you happy. That said most dealerships will tell you that the happiest customers they have are the ones they make the most money on. I personally will follow the recommended service in the manual Toyota...
While I totally understand the logic behind using a shop you trust for the work you’d rather not do, I’m with @Mrtwooooo on a lot of the listed work being illogical or totally unnecessary. One gallon of coolant isn’t enough to drain and refill...
Also the gasket 90430-12031 that they charged you $3.61 is just the oil drain plug gasket and should be less than a dollar. Really I think it should just be included with an oil change.
The “engine performance restoration”, “ethanol...
All those "Treatments" and all those other snake oils they charged you for are not recommended maintenance items by Toyota, or they would be in the maintenance section of the manual . The dealer nickled and dimed you.
How did they do a coolant exchange and only bill you for 1 gallon of super long life coolant?
I'd actually go check that they actually greased the u joints.
what is Coolant Conditioner?
half they stuff they did sounds very gimmicky and some...
Greetings All,
I shared my positive experiences with my local Toyota dealership, and this is what I’ve observed after a week of daily driving—post 60k service.
We all get used to the feel of our vehicles from frequent driving —thus changes...
You are correct. I was trying to instruct my uncle via FaceTime how to remove the battery cable  and while popping the hood, he mentioned that he had trouble with it latching. We determined that the hood wasn't latching and it was...
