I was just looking into this before taking a trip next week and came across this thread.
I see the same thing in my ARB - about a ten degree temp swing per cycle.
My old 20 year old Engel has less than one degree swing. I keep the food in the Engel and the drinks in the ARB.
See attached...
A circulation heater...I'll have to check into that. I found the freeze plug and it's a tight fit for sure. I think getting the old one out wouldbe the toughest part of the job.
I search on the circulation heaters but feel free to post a link if you know of a good one.
Thanks,

Does anyone here know where the 50mm freeze plug on a B diesel is located?
I moved to a colder climate a year ago and bought a block heater freeze plug from cruiserparts.net. I used to have a B diesel that had one located on the drivers side towards the front but I can't seem to locate one on...
Still looking for this elusive part. If anyone has a working one, please let me know. I have a block and tackle system that I use to kill the engine. WOrks fine and is a great conversation piece but I'd like to get my BJ back to 100%
Thanks,

Did you ever locate one? I need one too...mine went out and the only way to get my bj40 running is to disconnect the edit arm. I tried replacing the capacitor but it made no difference.
Have any of you guys had any luck getting a reply from the Tojo 4WD Center? Emails seem to go into a black hole. I just tried to use their checkout and it says they only ship within Australia.
That's one of the reasons I bought my BJ in the first place. ..simplicity. If I don't hear back from tojo I'll go the choke cable route and be done with it.
Not a bad idea. Someone was in that relay box before and it wouldn't be hard to check and just reflow all of the solder joints to see what happens. It doesn't smell burned so that's good.
Does anyone know whats up with www.tojo4wdcentre.com.au? I have been trying to contact them for a week and...
it was on the passenger side exterior of the glove box on mine. There are two 8mm nuts that you can see about six inches in when you open the door. The relay sits between the outside of the glove box directly above the foot vent area of that makes any sense.
