Glad to hear the family was okay and the vehicle did its job. This may require a bit more legwork on your end, but get the job done right with OEM factory parts. The next crash, whether you or your wife won’t be as safe. Something I learned recently, is that after every crash, it’s in the OEM...
Thank you @Zjohnsonua and @sr5pickup. I went back to AAA to have them add the additional pieces per FSM installation. Sounds like I need to shop around.
Hopefully someone can respond before mine goes in, but I managed to get my insurance company to cover OEM glass and molding. However, the company doing the work didn’t quote the job with the dams. I spoke with them about all four sides having new material and their response is that the only part...
That $20k Market Adjustment is the minimum, my brother saw a First Edition adjusted $60k ($118k) in Vegas. Consumer spending is ultimately what decides, but when the top executives call out BS on the dealers for that sort of adjustments, you begin to see where greed supersedes sanity.
Here we go....I've been watching all the so-called "rare" models (eg. Ford Broncos) instantly being flipped by new owners and even by the dealerships for a quick buck. But crap like this is just becoming extremely annoying (window sticker $107,810.00).
Out of curiosity, what air bag system did you go with? I’ve heard the LC doesn’t work well with air bags due to rear flex and ripping. Anyone have experience with that?
Update, I ordered the Wheeler bump stops and probably should’ve done a pre-purchase inspection. Those things are HUGE! Even with the TB cranked, I’m resting in the front ones/LCA with all fours on the ground (not pictured).
I went through all the other forum posts about installing just the...
Is there any option to import a brand new one and store it (thinking climate controlled)? Not sure how, if at all, that could be monitored by regulating authorities...
Thank you for the support. I fully intend to replace all the rubber components and will look into the tie rods/ball joints. I'll look into the various Dobinson shocks, but I have a couple final questions:
How light/thin are the OE Toyota TB in comparison to say OME or TD?
Would anyone recommend...
Great idea on the bump stops. I see a lot of FJ Cruiser/4Runner and '08+ LC references from Wheeler, but no 100 series listings. Does anyone have the exact part number?
All great stuff guys! Is there a particular Tokico shock number that is longer than OE to account for a taller coil in the rear and TB crank? I was planning on replacing all the rubber parts even though they seem to be in decent shape. They all have hairline cracks in them but are not missing...
Thank you. I should add, I had the TB's cranked up for a more level stance and to fit the larger tires. I almost think I need to increase the shock length or add coils +shocks in the back for a more even load height when packed to the roof.
All in all, it's smooth. It's had a great life but...
