I agree.
The other option, which I have not had on my 80, is the floating caliper pins sticking. On my wife's ES350, this happens yearly and I have to rebuild them. Likely something I am not doing correctly since I have to do it every year, but it is not too bad. Might be worth a check.
I just went through this as well. The engine would turn over and start in my case. Ran terribly and the p0330 code of course. If yours in not turning over, you have something else in play.
I wanted to give a great seller a bump. I needed new keys for my 80. After following the instructions, they keys work amazingly. So glad to have good quality keys again.
Communication was awesome!
Thanks Matt.
Two things come to mind for verification.
Since temp, moisture and an angle are common, I would check all grounds. Maybe one is a bit loose or allowing moisture to interfere. I would also check the wiring harness behind the EGR.
When it doesn't start; Did you notice if the check engine light...
250 will work fine. Start with about 7 min and test the separation. If it is not easy, pop it back in for another couple of min and repeat until it is easy. The lense should come off in a fairly easy pull. You should not need to pry on it. Careful to not let it go too long though.
I have the spec d lights. I installed them because my stock light adjustment pivot was broken and I could not get it repaired, although I may try again. I do not like the light pattern at all. I will eventually retrofit them. Sorry no pics yet, but will post one a bit later today.
Have a look at the retrofit source for their sealant (retrorubber). It is really easy to apply and works great. They have some resource guides on their site as well.
No doubt, that is another reason I just did a few back road runs while trying to get mine to finish. It feels like the drive times can be cumulative, meaning you don't necessarily have to do the whole pattern at once. Again, this is really speculation on my part, as it seemed to work.
This is...
In the doc you have been looking at for the catalyst and O2, there is a test for EGR (page 10). it sounds like you might be having intermittent EGR codes with the P0401 getting cleared at times. I would say this is an indicator that part of your EGR system is beginning to fail. Early on...
They CAN clear a MIL, but you will not go into ready state if there is a MIL showing. you would have to do at least 2 drives to get both. One that clears MIL and the other to set ready state. P0401 is another drive pattern though.
