Update; Bearings in transfer changed and with new and correct preload shims. Car runs greath, but the wierd sound is still there 🥺

I don't think so. I have had the car since it reached 300.000km, now it is 475.000.

have taken the transfer apart. Found a bearing that might be the source. A tapered bearing for the idler gear. Looks a little bad and maybe if the preload have become to light the outer race will sometime rotate?

Got a weird sound from somewhere around the transfer case. Tried to film it. It appears to be the same sound as in this tread Name that Tune!! Steering ends get my vote, if they have a little play the wobble can be really bad.

Yep, but I think the runnigboards concludes the build ;) It runs good, steering and braking are fine and better than you would expect for an old car. But I think the 3B is a little underpowered. So if one day I find a 13BT I proberly would consider a swap.

Had a friend build a couple of sidesteps, made them a copy of the originals one, but in stainless.
