IMO if the anything was in backwards, you would know it right away as the hub would not seat down to its proper place
If you want to save that inner seal, remove both locking nuts and the washer, pull the outer bearing put the washer and the nut...
Not to hijack but I've got "sliders" (side steps is what I assume you're referring to) that I could let go of pretty easily. Probably look about like the ones you had
We also haven't talked about what your break-in looked like for the new rings/old walls. if those new rings didn't seat right on the cylinder walls you can expect some of these issues.
Cool if you are looking for a project to do for the fun of it. However a much lower cost/effort approach to making a rig for road tripping... just leave those two doors closed. ;)

The A/C compressor bolts holding the fan bracket on disagree.
after doing a couple 2uz timing belts it got easier but i still think there's a lot that could be improved on there. To me it's part of the price you pay for having a powerplant...
