Thanks for that. Light on for detail as per usual, 4wd (advertising) 247. DPF while pointless is a fairly easy delete, but that EGR as I understand it is doubling the rate of degradation of the cylinders, pistons and valves from day one, and worst in town driven vehicles.
I haven't yet...
Thanks.
Getting interested in this LX derivative now, but wondering about stuff like steel bumpers. Looks like the wings (do you call these fenders?) are a different shape, so likely the VDJ200 aftermarket options aren't a go. How about a long range tank? Better chance that'll fit I imagine.
Interesting, thanks for the thought. Looks like one gets more VDJ201R for one's money than VDJ200R. The 201 is evidently the lexus variant, which we call 'LX450d' apparently.
Not surprised to see beemers and porsches well represented through this thread, toyota owners know their buld quality and reliability :)
Mine's a '96 e36 M3 coupe.
Folks, I think it's time to retire my 80 from towing duties. She's worked very hard for a very long time, and it's taking a toll.
When I bought that car I searched hard to find 'the one you want' - the 1hd-ft equipped version. I was doing a good amount of serious off road work then, so I went...
Don't suppose anyone has the manual for the subject box of tricks? This if the early one with dip switches rather than the later mfK digital interface unit.
Thanks chaps, sadl;y this isn't the issue I have then. I've never bothered to jack it up to change them. I'm leaning toward going with a nylon bush instead, are they really that bad?
Thing is it feels like the bolt must be tightening down onto the centre core of the bushing, but surely that's not the intention as when the truck goes into bump or droop it's going to be tring to twist the bush apart.
I suppose I should be able to prove or disprove by disconnecting either end...
I seem to do front panhard bushes every 15k or so. It's not a tough or expensive job, but it is a pita.
My truck has a 4" lift and runs 35s, which have decent balance. Castor correction by way of home brew drop plates on the chassis end of the trailing arms, which run stock rubber bushings, and...
I'm curious about other models too. Sadly salvage yards don't work like they should here, there's no rummaging around a yard for the parts you need. I do have a 98 hilux which I'll check.
Re the speedo needle, I refitted mine while driving on cruise at thirty (fifty). I don't recommend this...
