Voltage drop and electric fuel pump question

7V at the coil? Shouldn't those stop working at 9? I wonder if you are losing voltage between the battery and distributor.

    Stainless Fabrication in the Valley

My buddies at Pedal Down Fabrication in Mesa love doing stainless. It's an engineer side project. They do stay pretty busy though.

    Yet another brake thread...sorry folks

Neat! Thank you. Have been trying to wrap my head around it.

    Yet another brake thread...sorry folks

Just some musings from an 80 owner curious about this system: It seems like there's an electric vacuum pump, a vacuum accumulator, and then that drives the brake master cylinder like a typical brake booster. If your brakes are intermittently 'wooden', then you do not have an appropriate...

Valley shop advice: Dual battery and electrical experts

Hey there. I know one of the SDHQ electrical guys and I'm sure he'd be happy to do some side work to make it happen. I'm in Gilbert and happy to lend some guidance - always accepting donations of sugarfree red bull. I'm an electrical engineer & work in automotive. Built several full vehicle...

    Lift/Re-gear in Phoenix

The desert tool service guys recommended Zuk from gearinstalls.com to me. Really impressed by how many 80s he's done.

Better brakes or im going tons

I never see people do this on mud, so I'll suggest it here. Why not get a set of brake pads made that are more aggressive? G-Loc will make just about anything. I even put race pads on our Dodge Dart at work. I'm convinced, because I use special brake pads when I take my mustang on race tracks...

Love it! Glad to see someone building a scene like this in AZ. I hope I can bring a running 80 up some day.

    Who's working on a 1GZ-FE Swap?!?

Definitely fits. Bellhousing bolts directly to A343F. Had to relieve the firewall a little bit & chop the air handler. Expect a real build thread in about a year when I have something significant to show. Going to cook up some real weird stuff.

    Both Cats stolen - recommendations?

Wow, that sucks! I'm in Gilbert and have two cats off a Toyota Century that you're welcome to have, they just need to be welded in. For the U-Haul fleet we started welding rebar cages over the cats in areas where they get stolen a lot.

For Sale  Phoenix: '91 A440F Trans

Got this transmission in a trade for a transfer case. I don't have any use for it, so it's yours for $300. Does not include tcase. Unknown mileage, but PO tells me that it was run in a crawler for some time and then pulled in favor of a Chevy powertrain and that it operates fine. Will throw in...
