I'd also vote for overfill or improper fill of the T-case.
I've had leaks start on long trips before to... I assume from weak parts under full heat soak running for hours impacts tolerances and moves gunks and junks about.
You’ll need to pull the T-case to change the output seals. When I pulled mine the transmission output shaft was seeping (~280k miles). It had a small cut and I replaced it.
IIRC I don’t think it possible for the fluids to mix, though. They are...
It shouldn’t. I know some old timers that used to mix the two on purpose in older Chevy autoboxes, often at a 50:50 ratio. Their claim was that it improved shift smoothness.
I can't say I've checked a transfer case breather tube, for fluid...
By holding gear lube, I mean: It had gear lube in the hose that connect TC to it's breather valve.
I had pulled hose off TC side, at first union (splice fitting about 5" form TC air pressure bleeder port). I checked breather for free air...
Thanks for posting the video.
Fluid does looked dark, in what I captured from overfill coming from fill plug also. It seem a little to dark, since had just been changed ~60 days & ~1,600 HWY miles ago. But we've no way to now how long PO(s) had...
I'm probably not much help here but I did breeze over the Chowcares video where he pulled one to do the seal. Looks like a bit of a project, might help make sense of the setup seeing it all pulled out
>> The fluid dripping picture looks pretty...
That would require multiple seals to fail, at least one at the t-case input shaft, one at the back of the transmission, and 2 (IIRC) at the adapter box.
Edited 11/19/22. This thread gets more into foaming of lubricates, causes and effects. The two main causes of excessive foaming, we're concerned with: Overfilling and contamination. I also came to conclusion, with helpful post from others and...
Pump should come on every few times, brake pedal pressed.
If vibration felt when stationary (not driving). Could be bearings in pump or it's motor.
If vibration in pedal, is while driving. This if called brake pedal pulse. It's due to brake...
Even many Toyota/Lexus Dealership mess up wheel bearing service. Mostly due to taking short cuts, to save time. But they're your best bet to get this sorted out. Or A Land Cruiser specialty shop. Your local 4WH club(s) can help find you the best...
They replaced FDS (CV), which includes boots. They used all cheap after market parts, throughout!.
Some parts each side I do not see replaced, that should have been. Tells me they did not follow factory recommended procedure.
1) No lock washer...
Did mine today, and used a 1-5/16" socket from NAPA, and a MAP gas torch. Worked like a charm. The driver side gave me a nice pop, and the pass side just squirted out.
First "warpage" is a generic term. It's just referring to variation in thickness of surface(s) of disk.
With used rotors. I do get complaints of brake pedal, steering wheel and vehicle pulse while braking.
I also have had complaints on new...
I think your facebook message is 100% wrong.
The current LX still has AHC and rolls off the floor with fresh fluid.
The next generation LX will have AHC and AVS and will still roll off the floor with fresh AHC fluid.
These rumors are not new...
Suggest just google "buy Toyota AHC Fluid UK" to see some options in your part of the world if a Dealer has no stock. The same fluid is used in AHC systems in LC100, LX470, LX570, and probably in the future LX600 -- and as best I know in the...
Update:
I've now have a basically new working Ammco 800 Deluxe OTV Brake Lathe. Customized to work at jack-stand height. Machining rotor disk, to better than .001". Best of all correct the parallizm to 0, from a whopping .0022" MAX .0008")...
Whatever method used to get suspension into a neutral stance. Keep in mind we've 4 points (6, if also doing UCA) on each side, to torque once at neutral stance.
2- Lower control arm bushing nuts. (2-UCA bushing)
1- Shock lower bolt. (We always...
Something is going on here. Either he's messing up procedural, which he's been unclear on adjustment, measurements and than Mpa afterward. But if he' got it dialed in and pressure keep changing. He likely has a short.
@suprarx7nut was first to...
Usually whatever engine seller offered them, is what you get. What warranty are they offering?
They can check compression and oil pressure once running, and give you a report card. If good should last as long, as properly cared for.
If any...
