Getting ready to put hydro boost brakes in my 80 fj40. Has anyone got some info on this swap? I read the tech article in the tech section, but it does not have much information.
Well, I was under the cruiser today working on power steering and I noticed an oil leak line from the pinion running down to the bottom of the diff. How hard are these to fix? Could it be something else? ??? Thanks.
I have aussie lockers front and rear. After last nights adventure, I would go with a winch without a doubt!!!! :D Mud over both axles up past the frame rails with lockers sucks! ;) The winch would have gotten us out faster, but instead, my buddies and I dug the whole 40 out by hand. Not to...

Also, on the CCOT board, there was a post about stainless steel hardware a few weeks ago. There is a place where you can order a whole kit to convert your fj40 to stainless. Try a search of that board! ;)

I went with lockers first, but will get a winch soon! Both, in my opinion, are a must! I haven't got to try out the lockers yet, but I will as soon as I get some free time to wheel! :D

I have the aussie lockers installed in my axles now. They work great, but I can't steer with the front engaged (its hard when your weak like me ;) ). Will power steering help with steering this thing when it is in 4wd? More to come on the aussie lockers!
