My 2h with auto gearbox goes easy 75mph (it takes a while to get there though) and is still solid 🤷♂️
Can of coarse not be compared with a modern vehicle....
I have two good images here showing the two versions of the bellhousing .. one of the images points out a couple of casting differences that can help identify them. 2 new items by Duncan Margetts - https://photos.app.goo.gl/hnYqW1adf8RiinRj6...
That's good news, thank you mate!
As it concerns the bell housing, my question is: does the early HJ60 (1980-84) housing fit unclocked, exactly like the HJ47 housing?
If YES, is it with or without the HJ casting/stamp, in order to recognise...
Yes. So fun fact John, the clocked bell housings happened on all the engines across the 60s and 70 series cruisers. To include the 12ht as pictured of the post mid 85 production.
Same as this 60/70 Series B series diesel engine bell housing...
That was 4 years ago Rosco! I ended up putting a 12k mile HZ in that truck with the new H55f, full floaters, and cable lockers :)
But I did find the cave you're talking about and it had two NOS 12ht long blocks in it...was in Northern...
So there is a 2h/12ht 40 series bellhousing that fits the flat early cross member. Here are some photos it is not stamped like the first photo of the 60 series 2h/12ht bellhousing that's stamped HJ
Another question - I have the HJ47 aluminum bellhousing. I need the braces that reinforce the bellhousing at the sides of the 2H/12HT.
Can I use the braces from an HJ75 or HJ60? Or are the bellhousing braces HJ47 specific?
Edit: I did more...
My HJ47 bellhousing and clutch fork came in today from Australia. The bellhousing does not have the "HJ" casting on the top, so I think it is correct.
I'm going to powdercoat everything. Any suggestions for this clip? I'd prefer not to...
Maybe they are just reorganizing the website. I was seriously considering a 45 cab from them despite expectations of less then perfect fitment, and poor communications to my questions.
