Tech gurus, I frequently check in during the day from my Blackberry. Does vBulletin have any settings that can be changed so that when someone logs in from a handheld, the format is more conducive to small screens? It's not horrible, but there do seem to be some sites that look markedly different depending on whether I log in from my Mac or my Blackberry. This makes me think that there are "filters" that can be placed to change the format. For that matter, maybe there are settings on my end that need to be changed that would improve the appearance. Thanks, Luke

I've explored a couple, but haven't implemented any as of yet....

I'll look into it more....

k...now try....should autodetect your cell/pda when you log in....

should.....

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. Thanks for all that you do to feed our addictions! Have to start calling you "pusher-man".
Nothing quite like taking the train into the Cubs game, Eddie Vedder singing the 7th inning stretch, Kerry Wood being reactivated AND being able to surf 'mud at the same time!

<whew> it works

the colors suck, and will get updated when I get motivated....but at least it works ;)

k...the forums now suck on my nokia 770 :-(

I guess you guys flipped a bit and now my nokia shows a minimal web page. The nokia 770 has 800x400 display and could handle the.original forum just fine.

The 80s and chat forum has a minimal display but not this help forum.

what browser does the Nokia 770 use? it's all based on "reading" the browser and then setting the forum....if it's unique, it'd be easy to remove from the list.

I knew this change would make everyone happy, but i know I couldn't do the forum from my phone until now....just doesn't fit on a flip phone ;)

The string reported on my web server is:
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; ; Linux armv5tejl; U) Opera 8.02 [en_US] Maemo browser 0.4.34 N770/SU-18"

There is a newer Nokia 800, so I wouldn't key on N770.

The colors and function on my Pocket PC changed a few weeks ago, so I guess whatever you did in early August changed for me too. My screen is mostly bright orange with black and blue fonts. I don't get the option to choose which page of a thread I want from the front page of each forum (ie, Chapter Corner/Ga Cruisers). If I click on a thread it automatically goes to the last page.

I guess this is a better method for crackberries with no touch screen, but it sucks the life out of Pocket PC's IE.

Hey guys.

I know this thread is like, 3 years old.. but .. bare with me.

I have created a vBulletin / BlackBerry app that lets you surf vBulletin forums (like ih8mud.com) on your BlackBerry!

Maybe you can get your administrator to install the plugin (free) and you can download the beta test (free) for your bb!

Have the admin surf to vBulletin BlackBerry App | BerryBlab.com, and install the plugin.

Point your blackberry browser to vBulletin BlackBerry App | BerryBlab.com and download the proper app for the phone you have. Install, add this forum and you are ready to go!

We already have a few hundred forums using our app! vBulletin BlackBerry App | BerryBlab.com

Anyway, take care. if you have questions, let me know.

Harry

let me know of any issues.
