I bought a 1970 fj40 in February. One of the first things I did was changed out the origional radiator with a new four core. While changing the radiator, I changed out all of the hoses as well. I had issues with the temp guage and had to order and change out the sender. The entire cruiser has been rewired including a new-used fuse panel. I have been watching the gauages pretty religiously while driving and have noticed that the needle stays on the line before the "H".

Should the next move be to change out the thermostat or has someone experienced the same issue and has a quick fix. Although Im finding out with my 40 is that there usually is no quick fix.

I appreciate everyones help.

I would first verify your water temp with a mechanical water temp gauge.
It 's quite common for the stock gauges to be off, or non-functional.
