I was able to finish up all but the fuel can rack and the latch cam on the new tube bumper for the 60 series yesterday and got it installed this morning. The bumper can be built with or without a swing out. This swing out will have a removable 2 can rack and provisions for mounting a Hi-Lift jack as well.

The OEM rear cross member must be removed and is replaced with a 1.5” X 2.5” .188” wall rectangular tube in it’s place as part of the bumper. The bumper itself is far stronger than the OEM cross member but the rectangular tube also acts as the rear mounting point for the 2” receiver. There are also provisions for mounting recovery shackles that are .75” thick and mounted directly to the frame ends. The bumper mounts with 8- 1/2 ” grade 8 bolts and 12- grade 8 3/8” bolts. 8 of the 3/8” bolts replace the rivets that are drilled out of the rear most body mounts.

We have priced out the bumper and swing out. We hope to have the information up on the web site 6/1/11. You can also PM me for the information.

Stan

Yes, I do produce this bumper

To bad the truck did not have a shine to its paint. I have always loved that color from the 1950s ;) BTW, did you do this work tube work ? nice job.

The paint is supposed to look distressed, that is the idea.

Thanks

Yes I built the bumper.
I designed the bumper.
I bent the tube.
I welded the bumper.

NCFJ,

Wow! That's the first FJ bumper that I actually like.
Looks lighter (is it?) than the solid surfaced ones.

How much for the bumper and Swingout?

How much for he bumper (with the swingout post ready)?
How much for the swingout separately?
(May have to purchase in steps...)

And basket?

I'm very interested.
The lightness, the receiver hitch, the quarter pro... oh my.

Nice work, man! You are a metal-working artist! :)

For the selling and pricing side of things, put up a thread over in Merchandise Storefront.

Thanks for the comliments. Although I did not weigh the bumper prior to installing I would guess it is around 75-80 lbs without the swingout. I'll weigh it next time it comes off.

I have not priced the bumper yet, PM me on that.

I will be putting a 2 can rack on mine that will be removeable. I can build whatever you want to be mounted on the swing out.

The bumper can be built with the spindle attached and no swing out. Adding the swing out later would require some fab work on your end if installed at a later date.

Thank you very much. I am very happy with the web site, a buddy of mine built it for me.

Looks great, what did you use for the hinge?

The hings is a 3,500 llb spindle with 2 bearings.

nice work.
How big of tire will it hold?
:hmm:

That is a 33" on it in the photo, It can handle a larger tire but would have to be moved toward the center to clear the tail light. Not a problem.

I didn't really catch that at first. I've never seen a 60 series done up like that. The distressed paint, the faded stars, the pseudo-military look. Nicely done!

I can not take credit for the paint job. I bought the rig from my buddy James and he did the paint job. Certainly different and kinda cool. It will last until I decide to fix some of the body work. Righ now I am concentrating on the cancer along the drip rail on the roof, cutting out and replacing what is rotted away. The roof will remain white.

Cool paint and great bumper
