Hey guys

I picked up my first Landcruiser. A 1985 brown Landcruiser FJ60. 155 k miles. Pretty good shape for one in rainy Vancouver.

I've owned several Toyota pickups and currently DD a 1995 4runner. I've also owned 2 Celicas and many other makes in the past.

It seems the FJ60 isn't too much bigger than the 4runner. I thought it was going to be huge.

I just did my first of many more fill ups lol. I put in 91 octane like the FAQs https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/13183-fj60-fj62-faq-start-here-come-back-often.htmlsaid but I later searched and noticed a lot of you guys are putting in cheap 87 gas. I'm wondering now if I should stick to 91.

Also, there is a socket in the glove box which I have no idea what it is for. It has 1 prong. Is that for something custom or is it from the factory for something?

there is a light that was in there as stock. i dont know if yours is removed and only a plug remains

Welcome Ed, we need pics - cruiser porn is an addiction!:D

Ahhhh! Right you are! But our $$$ is going to a good cause. Keep the LC alive.

It's called Rootbeer brown (unless it's really light). I've got 2 of 'em. When I was checking out the 2nd one I told myself if everything else was OK & the trouble light was there (hardly ever) it was a done deal. It was & it was.

When I got it home I realized there wasn't a spare wheel/tire. Rather have the trouble light.

Welcome to the madness!

Welcome to many, many years of finding strange things on and in your LC and wondering what they are....

Could be a lug nut socket. My FJ60 has those weird security lug nuts that require a special socket tool.

Here are the pics!

Here are the pics. I was hoping today would be sunny.

What the heck is this electrical socket??

It came with a corded light bulb but it looks like 120 volt??

Man nice score! Love the color. Looks to be in great shape.

I'm diggin those wheels.

Nice cruiser. And remember to go straight down from first to second :D

So I just did some searching and found an old post on IH8MUD from '07 that says that toyota has them (maybe) for $29 and cruiserparts has them for $20 BUT they get really hot, fast. So... Think there's a halogen or led bulb replacement or socket adaptor for a replacement? Hmm.
It is very cool, I'm on it too! I love my old antique rootbeer girl.
