Well, if ya ain't got the know how or bucks to hot rod the A-Series engine slap
any engine in there.
:grinpimp:
You know me....the SBCs in Cruisers drive me crazy.
Just ordered me some nice track day tires/wheels for Mimi and
switched the carb needles. The tires get sticky very quickly which
is important for a lightweight car and the new wheels will reduce my unsprung weight.
She in the shop right now for a re-paint too.

This is Austin Healey porn:

Here is how a proper Sprite carves up the track with a National Champ/ World renown
race engine builder at the wheel. We let up at 105 mph on the straight...running a 4.22 rear gear.
She tops out at about 127 mph.
:grinpimp:

LOL...they let a Corvette and a Mustang go out ahead of me when I was driving.
They gave them a head start to around the bend and out of sight.
I was on that Vette's bumper by the time we got back to the start finish.
I'd loved to seen the look on the guys face as Mimi came roaring up from behind.

Yeah, because Hot Rod and F anything belong in the same sentence. But hey, if spending $5k on a 300hp Turbo F motor floats your boat, have fun.:steer: I'll enjoy my 300hp, 300# torque, fuel injected Cruiser for $1000.:)

I saw a Sprite outside of the Oak Steakhouse in Charleston the other day after eating, and it was funny everyone loved the car, but no one knew what the hell it was. If I could fit in one, I would love to have one. But, like they say. There is only room for half your ass, and 1/2 a gallon of gas.:)

LOL....I hear ya pal! If my ol F wasn't a matching number deal I might have gone SBC myself.
I spent dang near 5K on the engine (F) and tranny(3 speed) rebuild.
You know what they say about a fool and his money. :grinpimp:

There was a young man from Boston. He bought himself an Austin. He only had room for his ass
and a gallon of gas and his balls hung out and he lost 'em.
:hillbilly:

Here is that same Toyota twin cam engine in a Morris Minor with a supercharger.
Cool woody!

This guy works at Michelin, and I've seen this car up on the lift. It was amazing, the amount of detail he put into that thing rivals Alan's stock rebuild cruiser. He tried to make everything look period correct. And that trailer is sweet! He took it on the Hot Rod Power Tour last summer. Was even put in the Hot Rod Magazine write up.

The last I heard, his latest project involves an S2000 and a Sunbeam. :steer:

I have something he doesn't have for that bad boy. I have a spare Speedwell UK tag surround
I'm giving him when Mimi gets to come home.
He did the tech alignment for the LBCs recently at Garage Mahal.
Lynn's B was spot on and didn't need a wrench. ;) Lucky tweeking on my part.
Everybody else needed adjustment.

WOW, just wow!!!

That white racer on the lift is ALL carbon fiber and weighs about 1200 lbs.
750 + or - HP at the rear wheels.

My new ultra light retro wheels should be in next week along with the new 7/8 tubular
anti-sway bar.
My new tires arrived this week. Super sticky Dunlaps. Car and Driver rated them the
best autocross/track tires in a recent tire shoot out.
Mimi should really turn a corner with the panhard rod and new additions.
BTW: the panhard rod and the anti-swaybar are Speedwell Engineering stuff.

Next time my coworker from the UK comes over, I need to bring him to visit! He just finished a restoration on his Ford escort.

I love those Escorts. Let me know if he comes across the pond and we'll show him a bloody good time!
