Has anyone some experiences with torque converter shudder in a 80's Landcruiser?????

How to avoid or to repair ???

Is it common or rare??

Is it a full hydraulic A442F with PrnD32L on the stick and does it sudder uder acceleration in D but go away in 3rd ?

My 93 cruiser had a bad shudder between 40-45 it would buck and kick and shake. Ran fine besides an eratic idle sometimes (most of the time).

My problem was actually a vacuum leak on the intake gasket replaced the gaskets idle fixed and bucking and shudder gone.

Any updates on this? My truck seems to match what you describe above. Most shudder between 0-20kmh and smooths out when it hits 3rd gear.
