69-74 40 wiper arms 41-03 also listed as fitting later model 40s and dodge little red expresses

Has anyone used one of these on a 69-74? Quality? The reviews on amazon are 2 bad 1 good so you really never know as some people love to complain.

I have a 72 and on one of my arms the locking screw is stripped out so I need a replacement. They aren't expensive so I might buy a pair anyways, just looking for comments if anyone has used this particular wiper arm.

Reviving an oldie but I just put 41-03 on my truck. Top mount wipers. These have a 7mm arm that can be extended to different lengths. At the end of the main arm there's a swivel and another short piece of arm that ends in 7mm bayonet style. I didn't have good original wipers to use so I ordered some 31-12 wipers to connect to the arms.

Since these are all Anco products they fit together easily and they mount to the wiper motor stud easily. Unfortunately, they're too long in stock form. They are adjustable length but even at their shortest it's not quite enough. I had to remove the adjustable section and trim the end so that I could shorten them even further. Still too long. Part of the problem is the additional length you get adding the adapter from bayonet to J hook. Might of worked with bayonet blades, but they seem hard to find.

I removed the swivel and tapped the hole where it was mounted in the main arm for an m4 screw (it's 7mm width as well). Drilled the same size hole through the plastic in the adapter, slid together and screwed down . This gives you a straight arm/wiper configuration, which I believe is period correct (though I don't really care). With a 12 inch blade it's still just a hair long. I think an 11 inch blade will be perfect.

Overall was more work than I hoped for, but now with the J-hook fitting blades is easy. The plus side of the wiper is that they seem heavy duty, the spring is pretty heavy so they should wipe very well. Not plug and play, though.

In the name of science I figured I try the 41-02. Here's a comparison shot

41-02 is on the left, 41-03 on the right (modified). 41-02 is probably a better replacement. It's about the size of the stock arm and you can use the swivel to adjust the angle of the blade. It ends in a 5mm bayonet. The 31-12 blade come with a J hook adaptor that will work with 5mm or 7mm bayonet so not a problem. The spring on the 41-02 is not as heavy as the 41-03 but definitely stronger than the worn out springs on the set that came off.

If you were to rotate the blade on the 41-03 arm 15-20 degrees clockwise from it's current position, the way the original wiper arms were and similar to what you show on the 41-02 arm, would the 41-03 arm and blade be a proper length? Just curious.

How was the fit of both arms to the wiper motor posts?

I had to shorten the 41-03 arm so much I had to remove the swivel piece, so there's no option to rotate the blade on that one. With an 11" wiper and the swivel it may work. Both arms came with adapters that bolt on, then the arm presses on and has a small tab that will catch under the adaptor piece. They fit well. 41-03 is a bit harder to put on just due to the heavy spring wanting to pull it out of alignment with the post.
