Searched - only found a thread recommending SOR used one for $150

Has anyone found a new aftermarket solution that works - my canister is completely blocked

Toyota says it is discontinued

I edited the above post - follow the link and do as post # 9 to by-pass the canister. I did it to mine and works great.

Ok, JimC says:

"FJ40Jim's advice and switched the "fuel" and "purge" lines on the canister, effectively bypassing it, and haven't had any venting problems since..."

Is the "tank" line the "fuel" referred to above?

Yes. Just switch the two lines so the one from the tank goes to the "purge" port and the other one goes to the "tank" port (on the canister).

Mud rocks!

Thank you - now back to the next page in the FSM emissions diagnostics

Dunno - never done that. But I suppose you could just put a breather on the end of the tank line to keep it vented and delete the canister, if you're desmog...
