Where can I get my CO2 Tank Filled - This link takes you to a listing of National Welders supplies and gases. After entering your zip code, make sure you call before going over.

Also, per the posts below. Fire Extenguisher Shops and Soda and Beer distributors are another source. In fact, My last fill was from a Fire Extenguisher sjop, but I have used some of the welding shops listed in the link as well.

I added this whole thread to the 80's section FAQ in the General section.

the soda and beer distributors also carry CO2 and could well be much cheaper than the welding supplies based on my experience.

Fire extinguisher companies, too. They recharge extinguishers with CO2.

I go to a local scuba shop, cost $11 per 10lb bottle.

Seals Compressed Gases on the left coast. Doesn't come up on Ken's link. About the same price as Biff's scuba shop.

The link returned Airgas in my local area. I happened to be there yesterday with Cubedweller. They told me that hey ONLY do a tank exchange. bummer :frown:

My local welding supply swaps out tanks. I think it's a good way to go as you don't have to wait or worry about tank recerts. 20lb tank for $10 refill after buying a tank from them ($80-90). I think they get a lot of 4x4 customers.

The link didn't return my place (Salem Industrial Welding Supply) probably because the refill facility is in another town.

I Agree this is not a complete list. In fact, trying to get mine filled today, I eneded up taking it to a Fire Extenguisher shop called Red Comet. They filled it while I waited and it was half the price.

Here are some options from a fire extinguisher website...

similar sort of thing.

I checked around Sac and was unsuccessful finding anyplace that would do an refill vs. exchange.

Cube-There is a place in West Sacramento, right across from the Driveline Services shop. They do fills on Thursday and Friday, and will do custom fills. They don't like to do 1 tank on the spur of the moment, but if you get the tank there on Wednesday, you can pick it up Friday. Not super convienient, but it works.

I use Sacramento Fire Extinguisher on 24th by City College for my beer CO2, it's close to me, they even certify... Don't know where you live. Check that link i gave, might help.

If you had bought the beat up tavern CO2 cylinder instead of that Nancey Boy powder coated thing you wouldn't care.

In the Phoenix Arizona area:

Thunderbird Cylinder, Inc.
4209 E. University Dr.
Phoenix, AZ
602-437-4600

East of 40th St., West of HWY 143
Fairly convenient access from either central Phoenix OR the East Valley
7AM-2PM M-F <<<---- NOTE only until 2PM

$15 custom fill, 10 LB (fill your tank, in about 10 minutes)
Cash or checks only, no credit cards <<<--- NOTE

I like 'em. They seem responsive to customers.
I bought my tank and regulator and bracket there, for a fair low end price.

Nice folks - fast easy service - they also know and sell Powertank products

$18.00 for 10 lbs - Cash only :crybaby:

What they say on Yelp

:::

Gordons Welding Supply
1100 W Magnolia Blvd
Burbank, CA 91506-1812
(818) 558-3232

They sent my "pretty boy" Powertank to a 3rd party so I had to leave it for 2 days. $20 for 10lbs. I could probably save a few bucks going directly to whoever they used, but they're nice people and convenient.

See if you've got a Seal's Gas near you. Just paid $14 at the one in Costa Mesa. Outa there in as much time as it took to fill the tank!
