So for Saturday 12/26/09 FR160 exploring: meeting place would be Ba'ja (or is that now Che'vron...) gas station off of Beeline; I'd probably say 8:30 (but chances are I'll be late since I need to get my truck outta storage first...). So officially I punt - ToolsRUs ought to call the time...:D

Anyways, meet at gas station, BS for 30 minutes, determine CB channel, get that last cup of coffee (ahem, dark brown coffee look-alike hot beverage...), drive up Beeline to Sugarloaf mountain turnoff, air down, down to Sycamore Creek, head north; there's 3 crossings of Sycamore on the way to Strawberry Fields and the SuperHighway that'll take us to 1856. Water flow in Sycamore might determine if we can go that route, or if we need to cross Sycamore further south and use 1852 to go up the hill....

Here's da 'map' again...

Me 4.

In, pending equipment.

I'm in.

It's a lukewarm maybe for me. Have plans to go to the dunes that day and spend a couple of days there, however, having technical problems with my machine. Picked it up from the shop yesterday and had to bring it back with issues. If it doesn’t get fixed today the trip is off, then I’d love to go wheelin’ :steer:

I has SPACERS in my hot little hands! Looks like I'm good to go for the holiday wheelin' season! :D

Lessee now, work, or install tires/spacers... :hmm:

Good point, it's the one formally know as Baja, the name has changed. It's on the right past Shea on Beeline HWY, across from the casino.

Nope - what used to be Ba'ja (on Beeline ~2 miles north of Shea, opposite of the Fort McDowell casino/hotel/resort/watchamacallitthesedays exit) is now a Chevron station. Hence the spelling Che'vron???

Also, there's another light between Shea and the station. So, it's the second light after Shea.

What time

What time are we meeting at this Ba'ja on Saturday? Is the 8:30am still standing.

Yep, I would say 8:30ish, it's depending on getting the blue rig out of jail.

Cool area, very unspoiled, fun trail riding. We get to the air up spot and there are a bunch of flashing lights, crime tape, photographer, etc. The cops would only say that there was a train wreck. Searching the news sites with no joy.
