lubricating seat slides (1 Viewer)

So I've taken apart the sliders on some stock 40 seats, cleaned, and are ready to reassemble. Just thinking of a good lubricant that can survive an environment where dirt and water are going to be. Not being an expert on lubricants..........

Any Thoughts?

Anything wet will attract dirt and create problems.

Dry film lubricant of some kind should work just fine.

hey poser. seems like i don't get in here much these days.
do you thinking of something like graphite powder?
I have no idea what would have been used originally. to bad this isn't a sealed system

There are some dry film lubricants that are suspended in a liquid, you spray them on and then let the carrier liquid evaporate, I think it is a little easier to get the lubricant in place that way. I have a bottle here called FINISH LINE Teflon-Plus Lubricant, it is meant for bicycle chains, shifters and cables. I never thought of using it for seat sliders, though, my seats are always all the way back and I never remember to lubricate them.

marine dry lube. It should work. It may attract some dust but not much.

Lubri-Plate #3 It's a thick liquid impregnated with graphite. When it drys the graphite stays put and will not attract dirt. Great stuff! I did my spring packs with it.
