Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.

Have you got this in your scope? Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR
45 introduced into the House.

This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.

We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program. Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:
.It is registered

.You are fingerprinted

.You supply a current Driver's License

.You supply your Social Security #

.You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing

.Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

.There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning. He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action". Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs and especially the NRA.

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.

If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me. HR 45 only makes me/us less safe. After working with convicts for 26 years I know this bill, if passed, would make them happy and in less danger from their victims."

This doesn't sound so unreasonable to me. The very brief research I did indicates that some of this is misleading, but I'll let you all decide that for yourself.

I'm not against gun ownership, but I'm not against reasonable control legislation either. But I guess I'm some sort of pinko around here, anyway..:flipoff2:

Fxxx em.

Actually, this one has been flying around for years (there was a big thread in chat about this already). It always gets "shot" down. Some day it probably will pass, when all the pansies go out to vote while the rest of us are out hunting.

All these new laws are really against mother nature. In nature, it's survival of the fittest. All the laws we keep passing every year keep protecting the weakest and most sensitive. Go figure.

LESS GOVERNMENT AND FEWER LAWS.

I don't go into chat so I missed it there. Thanks for the link back though. I knew there was a bunch of gun totin criminals on this board so I figured I'd post it here. At what point do we revolt?

Are for the constitution and the Bill of Rights? Just wondering.

This has been on my radar for a while. I'm writing my congressman and trying to contact my friends and family who live in states with blue dog dems...they will be the deciding factor. If the dems can keep their troops in line then it's a done deal...they have the votes. It's only a matter of time until the right is taken away like it is in AU and England. We're all socialists now...and the government can't have people be a threat to their control. Call me crazy but England learned the hard way that having an armed citizenry is a bad thing...when America won it's independence.

I am not a big fan of the NRA but do get involved, there are other groups out there, if you think people should have a right to protect themselves.

Beyond the bill of rights...read the 14th amendment...Southerners didn't want blacks to have guns after emancipation...the 14 Amendment guaranteed them the right to defend themselves.

So, is this saying my kids can't go plinking or hunting with dad till they are 18?

It could be conceived to be so, and you would then be a felon if you did contribute to their aparent delinquency by providing them access to said weapons. You should totally sell me your guns now so you don't get into any trouble with this.

Taking away guns does nothing for the criminals. Only law abiding citizens will be affected by gun control.
Responsible gun use/ownership is the only thing I could get behind. Like teaching your kids how to brush their teeth, you have to take it seriously and be responsible. Other than that, the gubment is getting to damn big for it's britches, time for another revolution. Ben Franklin would have a s*** fit if he saw what we have become. Giving up our freedoms left and right so we can feel "protected" and "safe". Fxxx that.

Don't get me started.

There was a reason that our consitution sates the "right to bear arms". Our founding fathers knew that for a society to be free, the populace must keep this right. Be careful, dont let your freedoms be chipped away one "under the radar" law at a time.

Last year I took my orchestra to California. The choir came along as well. While the choir director and I were planning the trip, we went over some ground rules for our students.

The choir director wanted to allow any student to visit any other student in any hotel room - guys in girls' rooms, girls in guys' rooms, alone or with groups of students. She argued that "if the students are going to have sex, they will find a way. Whether we give them a place or not."

I thought about this, and came up with a counter-argument that I think mirrors my feelings on gun-control legislation as well. Accepting that our students might decide to do something stupid on our trip was one thing, providing them with a place to do it is another. I felt that if the students were going to be having sex/doing drugs on my watch, they were going to have to break two rules.

Similarly, while I don't think that adding new regulation (is this proposed legislation drastically more stringent than current laws?) won't necessarily keep guns out of criminal hands, it could help law enforcement by giving them more ammo (get it?) against criminals. Maybe that jackass that broke into your car and stole your stereo gets another couple years added on because he had an unregistered gun in his backpack?

Meanwhile, just like my students who were content to hang out in the halls in full view and were generally just happy to be in California in March even if they weren't having sex or experiencing mind-blowing drugs, the responsible citizens of our country still have access to their guns. Which I fully support.

Then again, this is just one "pansy's" :)flipoff2:Alvin) honest opinion. You may totally disagree with me, and I respect that. In fact, I look forward to reading more honest opinions regarding the issue. Some of you have made very compelling points that if nothing else have made me think about my position. But not change it.

 Well said!

In a nutshell ( I need to get Zoe to bed ) I am against any new laws. We have more than we need on the books already and if you look at history, I believe this country's citizens have been slowly giving up freedoms for "safety" since the 20's. We keep asking the government to take care of us instead of us taking care of our government.
To me, the scary thing about more gun control, is that we are losing our only means of fighting back when the government needs to be taken down. Laugh if you want, but even in this day and age, citizens may revolt against the injustices of their government. Happens all over the world. Problem is the people of the US are blinded and think things are fine here and continue to give more and more power to the government.

The people should not fear the government, the government should fear the people.

Quit being a nation of sheep. Freedom is something you have to fight for.

In several States right now you can't buy gunpowder anymore to reload your own shells - stores wont order it anymore....as eventually the new amunition that they will carry will be serialized / trackable and require a license to purchase. In this way, the feds are going towards a way of restricting the gun owner that DOESN'T violate the 2nd amendments rights...just makes it harder to load your weapon without similiar registration of your AMMO...

www.ammunitionaccountability.com

From www.ammunitionaccountability.com "When a bullet is found at a crime scene, the code on the bullet can be read with a simple magnifying glass and then be run through a statewide database to determine who purchased the ammunition and where, providing a valuable investigative lead."

They think this will stop crime...You could easily get around this with a $10 bullet puller and a re-loader in 2 minutes.

Sell you my what? I sold those a long time ago..;)

Just making sure you stay well within the letter of the law.

Watching this thread with extreme interest. While the original post and link for the Blair bill isn't the thing that most folks are really worried about (no co-sponsors, been tried for many years) this morning I got an interesting wake up in my email from a friend. Its from ABC, so grain of salt, but its been what most of us bitter, religious folks have been worried about all along.

ABC News: Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban

I make no claim to the veracity of this article. It does not however, surprise me in the least.
