What is a fair price for a working/unrebuilt 3b engine/tranny combination containing the alternator and starter, etc...

I just bought a good running 3B for $1,150 (long block, starter, alt, etc.) with no transmission. Seemed fair to me. SOR wants $2,200 for just the engine, seemed way to high to me.
