hi all. it's snowing here in flagstaff and i'm just about ready to put my valve cover back on. and yes - my bolts were loose too. but, the old gasket was britlte and cracked as we removed it. the fsm doesn't specify a torque setting or tension pattern for the 12 vavlce cover bolts. anybody know otherwise? thanks ---- victor

The last page of the introduction has "STANDARD BOLT TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS"

6mm bolts range between 48 inch-pounds and 9 foot-pounds, depending on the markings on the bolt head.

So your bolts were loose also.........hmmmm......maybe this should be a PM thing.

Yup, some on the back of the valve cover were "finger loose"....O well, now skeddy's got a new valve cover gasket, a sparkling clean throttle body, new plugs/wires and we know that the valves were OK adjustment-wise.

All in all, we cranked it out in the same amount of time the local dealer wanted for just the valve cover. :D
