I bought an SM420 mated to a 3spd case awhile back ago and am ramping up for an install hopefully soon. I was looking and from what I can tell it might not have come with a clutch fork but I haven't looked through the small parts box in awhile so it may be in there.

Can the 4spd clutch fork be installed into the 3spd bellhousing without modification?

Yes,

You will need to use the 4spd fork pivot however.
