That's not a bad rate since a phone costs around $750. If you plan on ever using the phone it's worth getting a prepaid plan for some minutes. I have one of these phones for work and it works well- holds a charge for a long time (when it's off) and I think it has about 3 hours of talk time.

I have one of these phones. Globalstar sells them refurbished. I paid about $350 and have 200 minutes a month for $50. Way more than I use. I carry it when I travel travel overseas also. No cell phone problems, and it works anywhere you can get a clear shot at the sky.

Two thumbs up.

Mike- who do you have a contract with for 200 min for $50?

It's an old Globalstar contract - been with them for 3-1/2 years. They have similar palns, but %50 is now the bottom plan. Way more time than I use, but you never know when you'll need the phone.

Anyone hear of any problems with Globestar service issues, lately? I'm being told by a couple of phone rental companies they are having reliability issues, i.e. not always able to get a signal.
