Hi, i,m going to upgrade my fj60 1982 diff gear and have 2 choice, (4.10 from a 1992 80 complete 3rd member two rear or 4.11 from a 72 fj40 only ring and pinion) Some body can helpme for the best selection, and this fit to my 60?. thanks for your help. and regards from baja.
 
Use the later one. The 72 is a coarse spline pinion and significantly weaker.
 
92 80 rear is a FF application, you might get a headache with the spiders if you are just swapping in the third..
 
I'd look for ones from a 62

I did this on mine...got thirds from a 62. Actually, I got two "front" thirds IIRC. less wear and tear.

No it isn't. The FF started in 93. The 91 and 92s and some 93-94 have semi-floats.
 
then he should be golden..
