I went and pulled a friends 1 ton 4x4 Chevy dually out of some mud Sunday and on the way home the old F passed away...

It was a kick yankin on that Chevy in the mud.

But sucked at the car wash at 10pm for a hour....

oil filter on the side of the block infront of the starter? 74 f i cant remember if my pick up was that way on my 74f

amen, thats what i was thinkin. that is SERIOUS! i would think/hope the motor woulda stalled long before that would have happened!

that oil pump and pick up tube arrangement was use up to 6/'76...

I did not know that, I tore down a 76 but unknown production date, it had the later style......It is a 74 F motor though.
