I thought oil was leaking past the o-ring at the distributor. I pulled the distributor and noticed the old o-ring was still in good shape. I replaced the old with the new o-ring anyhow.

What I found out was the oil was not leaking past the o-ring but was leaking through (inside) the distributor housing itself. In fact some of it was draining down the hole at the bottom of the distributor assembly and seeping past the distributor cap gasket. In fact, before I replaced the distributor cap, I had to wipe up the excess oil at the bottom of the distributor housing.

Is this fixable, or does this mean I need to replace the distributor all together?

Almost forgot about this one.... is there some other o-ring that could be replaced internal to the housing?

might want to contact Dan and see if Toyota sells any internal seals for the distributor.

Thanks. Called and spoke with Dan yesterday. Nothing internal can be replaced to prevent the oil leak. Ordered a new distributor assembly.
