Friends,

Does anyone have a 46mm socket that they are willing to loan? I need to remove the crankshaft pulley nut on my 77 FJ40, and can't find a local source for the socket. (I'd also rather not buy another rarely-used tool.) I've checked with the UC members here in Charleston, but to no avail. Can anyone upstate help?

Doesnt your crankshaft nut have those 2 hooked barbs on it so that you can use a bar instead of a socket?

hey man,

i've got one i'll ship to you.

when you're done you can ship it back...sound good?

shoot me an email,

and yes, that would tighten the nut...

I think those hooks are for hand cranking the engine like an
old T model.

yeah, that's right...so using the t-bar would tighten the nut, not loosen it

Thanks to 72Cruiser (Jonathan)! This is one of the great things about cruiser addicts, everyone is just so darned friendly.

Hopefully now I can get the timing cover off and find the source of this knock that's been driving me nuts.

Keith
