Does anyone know what year there was a gray somewhat non-metallic FJ60 that came with minimal chrome and factory gray solid steel wheels? US spec. There is one driving around my town, it is completely stock, never repainted, not imported to my knowledge. Not the same color as the one in the mud puddle thread.

I think it may be Silver Code 147 from an 87 but not sure. Did any US spec come with less chrome trim than others? And solid steel wheels?

Just wondering.

US only had one trim level, other than the very, very early 60's. "Somewhat non metallic....could be a faded out metallic one. wheels are easily changed, I'd be more impressed if it had grey grill and headlight doors. I've been through a few dozen 60's, and the only one with factory steel wheels was a very early 1980 model. Lots of aftermarket rims tho.

anyone have a photo of a 60 with the stock 40 style steel wheels?

yep

Hey there Nuclearlemon,

Are those stock 40 rims with 33x10.5's?
I would like to do that for my winter tires.

the first pic he had 36's if I'm not wrong from another thread he posted, and the second one it seems like he's running 36's too. maybe I'm wrong.

Let us know nuclearlemon.

top is late model 40 rims without clips with 36" swampers
bottom full size pic is 76 disc brake rims with 35" ssrs.
