Heater test.

Door and walls insulated?
The floor will absorb a massive amount of heat, in addition to the large volume of the space.
A 240v fan forced heater directed at your body is probably going to be your best bet if you don't intend to keep a minimum temp in the space at all times, IMO.
Kero is crazy, bat**** expensive these days, anyway.

Yea. I think my garage is drywall minus insulation. It’s an old place. The heater doesn’t do much unless I’m standing next to it. It raised the temp a few degrees. In like 4 hours. Haha. Booooooooo. I might get the next size up. This is a little guy. It’s not really cold out and it’s still cold in the garage. That said, I’m out here cleaning up as long as I’m right next to it. I definitely needed the bigger size. Anyone want this one? 80 bucks!

Only 110 out here. And I’m not keen on running my emergency generator all day for an electric heater. Damnit. I think the bigger size could help take the edge off. If not I’ll just nut up and keep this thing directly next to me while I work out here.

Do not have a kerosene heater but started using a 1500w electric radiant heater pointed at where I am working instead of propane in the garage unless I'll be out there all day.

At current kwh rates, the radiant should cost something like 17.5c/hour to run and is good enough to stay comfortable.

Limited-time deal: TEMPWARE Electric Garage Heater, 7500-Watt Digital Fan-Forced Ceiling Mount Shop Heater with Full-Function Remote, 240-Volt Hardwired Heater with 12-Hour Timer, Ideal for Workshop https://a.co/d/hxIzqrv

I might grab this and wire it up. I can run it from an old hot tub drop we don’t use on a 40 or 60 amp breaker. I’ll look at it. But either way I think it would be better. Then I can use the kerosene as supplement if needed. I hate working in the cold unless I have too. Haha.

Taking care of a small spot of rust on the 80 before I put the sliders on, I'm gonna take it to my shop tomorrow finish and paint it but the patch is all complete

Looks great! I have one in transit myself right now for my 80! I know that they say to cut the whole panel, but I'll do like you did and keep a center section in tact for that extra structural support.

The instructions provided, do recommend to keep the center support for the 100 series, 80 series could be different.

Got the patch panel all wrapped up on the 80 and the bellfab tire carrier painted

Looking great Drew! Hoping to see her in person at some point...I'll make it to a meeting eventually. Assuming that the BellFab bracket was something that you just had lying around...nice score!
i actually bought it new, I wanted a good way to carry the spare inside the truck and i really like the way they designed it

Big thanks to @Stumpalama and Chappy ( idk what his MUD name is) but Chappy ended up donating these first gen SLEE sliders to the 80 build. They needed some work they where very rusty and actually had rusted through in a few spots. Modified them to work with the early 91-92 cruisers, repaired them and had them blasted. Got some motivation and installed them yesterday

Ah, good to know....is he still making them then? I looked into a while back, but was under the impression that they were no longer available. I've been looking at options to lighten up my rear end a little bit & for easier tailgate access, and this one looks like the best on the market for engineering and safety. Since I have the LRA extra tank, I can only hang the spare on the back or with something like yours.

BTW, your slider refurb looks great too!

Edit...just took a look at the Bellfab site, and I see that they are available again....hmmmmmm.....;)
