I have a 84' BJ60, the body has 320,000 KM, the engine seems to be in pretty good shape, but the body is trashed, and the truck does not look well taken care of.

is there any way that I can verify that the engine is original or a replacement perhaps there is a VIN number on the block somewhere?

Thanks

I don’t know, but there’s a thread in the diesel section matching VINs with engines. I didn’t spend much time analyzing it, but maybe there’s a nougat or two of tasty info in that thread

I suppose you don’t have the factory manual or sales info? I know that a real long shot, but I have my factory paperwork and it show block number and VIN. So I at least know mine is original.

The B series should have it stamped on front side right under intake manifold.

That thread posted above will get you into the ballpark.
